Moonshadow Ragdolls began with nothing more than a love of cats and being attracted and captivated by the sound of the Ragdoll.  After owning our first raggie it soon led to the desire of  breeding this beautiful cat. Our love of cats soon became our full-time vocation, however, we must mention though that our cats are firstly and primarily our pets.  We’re acutely aware though, of the need to avoid becoming a “kitten farm” so we take great care to maintain a close, “personal” relationship with each breeding cat. It’s such a thrill each morning to greet those eager faces with their lovely unique personalities!

Our two lovely children, all our adorable cats, and our two dogs share our home with us; it is definitely full of life!! The kittens are raised in our home and our children love to help socialise them, cuddling and playing with them.

Our Property  is situated at the base of the Dandenong Ranges National Park, it has a rose garden, many grassy areas and trees, which provide welcome shade during the summer months. From here our babies move onto their loving homes. We live in gorgeous Ferntree Gully, Australia where the climate varies a lot; it can be very hot in summer and rather chilly in winter. We are located about 35km east of Melbourne.

We have only recently relocated and enjoy the peace and quiet here, except for the cockatoos and parrots that can get quite noisy! Our cats are brought up in a loving caring environment inside - they have the run of most of the house and their own sun room; and outside - we are currently finishing their new enclosed courtyard which will be complete with pond, grass, branches and hidey holes, where our breeders can experience vital socialising, stimulation and sunshine.

Health, quality and temperament are our watchwords, and you can be sure that superior bloodlines are in use here including those of Australian Grand Champions and breeders from the USA and Britain.  Health & hygiene are crucial aspects of cat breeding, so only the best feeds are used here, especially Royal Canin™ and Advance™, which is highly recommended by vets.

Our Kittens leave for their new homes from 10 weeks of age, depending on their maturity, condition and health at the time, allowing for early bonding. By then, they are also litter trained and fully ready for their plane flight.

They also come with their first vaccination, flea and tick treatment, a national microchip implant, worm treatment, a thorough vet check, plus our re-assuring health contract/guarantee and breed registration papers.

We know you’ll want to watch your baby’s progress so we email weekly updates including pictures.
